1 starDon't Buy A Rheem! We are homeowners that purchased a heat/air condition system from CDF Mechanical of ********** on 4/2021 to warm and cool our new house. It did neither. The installer bought the system from ***** in ** , who bought the system from Rheem in ** who is owned by ****** in *****. After 3 years of no heat and air, we had to find and pay for another installer $5700 to fix the duct work and repair. We finally recovered the $5700 from the installer. Shortly another problem arose and we had to pay the new installer an additional $904 to repair it because ***** said it is not covered by warranty. It was determined that the original poor installation damaged the compressor and ***** ordered a replacement at no charge however ***** says that the cost to install it, will not be covered. We are not pleased with their Rheem system, nor are we pleased with ***** for selling a high-end unit to an installer that ***** described to us as not knowing how to install high end systems. We are further aggravated with ***** for not assisting us with the two labor charges totaling $2,336.41 considering what weve gone through with the system and installer. Since ***** doesnt want to help us, we're left with no alternative but to share honest reviews of our experience with Rheem and AMSCO both to other consumers and to the management of Rheem and *****************. Our goal is to educate and warn unsuspecting homeowners of the problems with Rheem and the lack of customer care provided. Bottom line: ***** allowed a known incompetent installer to buy and improperly install an expensive, high end Rheem system and allowed homeowners to suffer through more than 3 years of inadequate heat and air conditioning. ***** will not go the extra mile to assist with $2,336.41 to repair/install a replacement to make things right for the homeowners and protect Rheems reputation. 3 years ago i had a Rheem water heater put in. It was faulty so leaked everywhere and I had to get a new one put in. While the unit was covered by a warranty, the install was not so I had to pay another $1400. I have contracted them twice to get a reimbursement, but they won't even respond. ******** customer service and a useless warranty. I have had little to no hot water in my kitchen and laundry since the Rheem water heater was installed (11/2024). I have called 3 times and taken PTO to get this water heater to work. Now, I have to take another day off to have a Rheem authorized plumber come out and take reading & once Rheem evaluates the readings then they will send another plumber out to 'fix' the problem; these fixes only last about 36 hours. The hot water heater is a lemon it does not work. If Rheem can stall for another 2 months, then the replacement period of the warranty is over. Purchased a Rheem Gladiator 50 gal. water heater. Model #XE50M12CS55U1, on 11 October 2024. On 14 November 2024 the electrical panel showed a warning and even after hitting the reset button the system would not work. Contacted ******* warrantee department and went through their phone checks for the product. They determined it was a bad panel. Three weeks of cold showers later the panel arrived. They wanted me to find a local electrician to install the panel and I told them they should hire a local company to come and fix it. Two weeks more of cold showers I installed the plug and play panel which required duplicating the 8 wire, labeled, connections. Never heard back from Rheem but I dropped it as the water heater was working again. February 3rd I come home and notice I only have cold water again. I contacted Rheem again and the young lady on the other line gave poor instructions and had me remove the top panel (not knowing it required a tool as none was explained) which led me to open the wire connection panel. Luckily I had already turned the circuit breaker off. I asked her twice if the top panel was on the side of the water heater and she said no it was on the top. After further discussion we decided it was the top side panel behind the controls. The young lady told me to push the red reset button but there was no red button. She said the button was on the top so I put the panel backed on and searched the top of the water heater only to find that it was again in the top side panel in a hole however the hole had what appeared to be a silver plate. The young lady put me on hold and I pushed several times in the reset hole and the silver plate began going in an out and reset. I replaced the cover and hit the circuit breaker and the water heater began working. I was on hold for twenty minutes and finally hung up. An hour later and no one called me back. Having customers removing electrical panels is a dangerous practice and not very customer friendly.Rheem Manufacturing Company

******** customer service with misinformation and ridiculous requirements for warranty claim - will never purchase again. Water Heater broke 3x in 2 years and the hoops required to repair and replace make the 6 year warranty worthless - I used to think Rheem was a good brand - Not anymore. Phone system broken and I was required to make 6+ calls to get to a human that knew something. Prompts are ineffective and even the humans gave bad information to the customer. HORRIBLE experience. 6 months of use, gas water heater is not working, no support.Our gas water heater has stopped working 8 times in 6 months. I have called a couple of times to get assistance. The first **** ***** was polite, our call got disconnected. I called right back the next **** was rude, aggressive, lacked customer service skills. I was transferred to ***** he said they would send out a pilot assembly via ***** 4-6 days, 3 weeks later still have not received the parts. I'm currently talking/on hold with (started with ********) *** for 1hr15min and now being told the part is out of stock. Told I can see if I can buy the part locally. Rheem does not have a good product. Again, our gas water heater has stopped working 8 times in 6 months. Rheem is not offering any help with their product. The unit was installed in a modular homes we purchased new.Rheem Manufacturing Company

Terrible experience. do not buy this brand Rheem. Don't even have the parts on their web site to install units, Why sell units you don't have parts for ? that's a scam. I had called the company 6 times you have to go through so many options and always get the wrong person they transfer you back to the same system with all the options and when you can talk to someone they can't solve the problem im thinking on returning this and getting other brand. If I could leave a '0' star review, I would. I'm not sure how the BBB rated this company as an 'A+' but that gives me little hope for the work that the BBB does as well. As you can see from the customer reviews, this ********************** deserves very few stars and DEFINITELY not an A+ rating. I have now been without hot water for 4 weeks, I'm into the repair for over $450 because NOTHING is covered under the warranty of a not even 3-yr-old water heater. My problem began 11/19. The hot water just stopped working. No error codes. I called Rheem. They said I needed to do testing on the of the machine. (I'm not a plumber/electrician, so no, I'm not doing it.) I asked for the steps to test it, called MULTIPLE local plumbers, & all said they did not work on tankless water heaters. I called & begged a plumber to come out & follow the steps while Rheem was on the phone, he agreed. After waiting quite a while, we got a woman who took the plumber through the steps, said she thinks it's the triacs, AND THEN HUNG UP ON **. Called back, put on hold, finally got someone who sent us to the purchasing **** who put us on hold again & then told me it would be ~$80 to get the new part in 2-4 business days. I waited until 12/2, called back & was given a tracking number. 12/3 the tracker said it was being sent back to the company because I refused the part. ****. They never came to my home. 12/4 I called Rheem back because they were closed already on 12/3. 12/4 someone said they'd resend the part AND accelerate to their **************** hear back. Nothing. I finally get the part on 12/9. The plumber comes back out on 12/10. Guess what? The triacs doesn't work & the company is closed for the evening. Talked to 5 people on 12/11 until someone says, oh we'll send you a heating element. It came 12/14. Had it installed on 12/15 & guess what? STILL NO HOT WATER. I have been on hold today for two hours now with NO ONE answering the phone. No one. They should be ashamed of themselves.Rheem Manufacturing Company

Rheem's wifi (formerly known as ******) does not work. The reason one would use it is to either set geofencing or to manually turn off and on the water heater. However, it sets itself back on, and the geofencing feature does not work. Having talked to the Econet tech support (Rheem, DO NOT REFER ME BACK THERE!), the answer is that it is a known issue and no timeframe for resolution. I have heard this a few times, professionally giving them time to address. Therefore, you waste extra money for this feature! Try ** ***** or another brand with prior research so you know the manufacturer will pay an analyst to fix in a day or so.Rheem Manufacturing Company

I bought a part from Rheem about my water heater that cost almost 400 dollars and turned out that it is not the one that i needed For the return label from them i was waiting just to reach them for 2 weeks and finally i did get one and returned the part in ***** I am waiting for almost 2 months to get my money back and one of the customer support team was so rude trying to avoid the issue by shifting the blame on me Now i am without the part and money ,calling the Rheem every day all they say is rhat they are trying to solve the issue and it been like this for a monthRheem Manufacturing Company
